Welcome

We aim to make this site a comprehensive guide to the goings on in Appleton and Eaton, enabling residents to be involved more in village life with comprehensive coverage of all the activities and facilities in the villages. We also aim to help residents understand how the villages are run and make it easier to access local services. Individual groups maintain their own pages and help to keep this site alive.

Netherton Road: road damage opposite The Pound: Update!

31st July 2015: Update! Great news ... Thames Water will be taking action next week and SSEPD, within about 24 hours of the issue being raised, have temporarily repaired the trench across the road yesterday and will complete the repair next week! 29th July 2015: A resident has, yesterday, raised concerns about the Thames Water coned area by the village pond and the depression outside the entrance to the new development at Pond Farm. It appears that Thames Water, having largely ignored the problem since January, is responsible for the repairs and this is being pursued. The depression might be the responsibility of SSEPD and again this is being explored. We all hope for an outcome before Winter sets in!

Have your say on subsidised buses

Oxfordshire County Council would like your views on its service change proposals for subsidised bus services and Dial-a-Ride.

The council needs to save more than £6 million on supported transport services and can save money by running existing services more efficiently, however that is not enough. Savings will also have to come from reducing the current £4 million a year the council pays in bus subsidies and to run the Dial-a-Ride service.
