Stranger snooping earlier today: your help urgently required, please
25th January 2012 & 26th January update: It has been reported a stranger was snooping outside a house in Oaksmere on Wednesday evening and again early this morning, Thursday. This morning it is believed the same man was seen walking up and down the stream end of Oaksmere at 7:00am. He must have been disturbed and ran to his white van parked near the Village Hall and was last seen speeding away to the A420. Today's incident has again been reported and the incident number is 161 26/1/12. The Appleton resident said of yesterday evening: "I opened the front door to put out an empty milk bottle, and heard a muffled noise. I shouted 'who is it' and a man quickly dodged away from the window where he was crouching (some 30ft from the public footpath!), and ran off up Oaksmere. Unfortunately I had not got shoes on, and was unable to give chase. As he had his back to me I was unable to see his face, but he was wearing a black beanie hat and was roughly 5ft 8in. My daughter had been out for a run previously and I asked her if she'd seen anyone while she'd been out, and she mentioned a man wearing a black beanie who was walking down Badswell Lane behind her towards Town Furlong. (She was walking off a stitch at the time) She then began running again, and came directly home. Obviously there may not be any link at all, but whoever was snooping outside our house felt guilty enough to run for it when challenged." Maybe somebody has noticed someone acting a little strangely this evening. Thames Valley police have been advised, and if any one has any information the incident number is 1422 25/1/12. The phone number is 101.
