Pitch sizes & measurements
Pitch sizes and measurements
For the record, in the 2009 season the ACC has 6 pitches on the square.
The reference point is from the wood side – rather than the Field Farm side!
Allowing a 3cm gap between the outside of the white lines, the measurements are as follows: -
- Pitch 1 0.00 to 2.75
- Pitch 2 2.88 to 5.63
- Pitch 3 5.76 to 8.51
- Pitch 4 8.64 to 11.39
- Pitch 5 11.52 to 14.27
- Pitch 6 14.40 to 17.15
The "crease" width is 17.2m side to side and ther cross measurement corner to corner is 26.4m. The pitch length is 22yds or 20.12m
The width between the inside of the lines (side-to-side) should be 2.64m. Thus 2.75m allows for the painting of the white lines.
The other official sizes are: -
- Wicket to wicket (back of bowling crease line) 20.12m
- Front of popping crease to back of bowling crease line 1.22m
- Back of popping crease to back of return crease 2.44m
- Inside width return crease 2.64m
- Wickets should be placed on centre of back of bowling crease line
