Album: 100 Years of Parish Councils 1884 to 1994

In 1994 Parish Councils celebrated 100 years since these councils were formed. Vera Porter, at that time Chairman of the Appleton-with-Eaton Parish Council, appealed for material to compile an Album to celebrate these 100 years.

Vera, who sadly passed away in February 2010, spent hours and hours developing the Album and the "hard copy" is kept in a wonderful oak cabinet in St Laurence Church at the west end of the church. The oak cabinet in which the album is housed was made by Vera's brother-in-law. Although it is kept locked, anyone who would like to view the album can obtain the key from Rev Lyn Sapwell or the Parish Clerk Jane Dymock.

This electronic version of the album does not do it justice: the copy is a photographed version of the actual album. However: the order of the album has been kept (the JPGs are sequentially numbered!) and all the documents that are within the album have been captured in jpg format so the viewer can see the album in the whole.
