Employment in 1990s
When the figures of the Appraisal questionnaire were analysed it became evident that 25% of the population of Appleton and Eaton find their employment right here in the local area. This is not surprising for there are:
| 1 Bead craft worker | 2 Plant Nurseries |
| 4 Builders | 1 Property Developer |
| 1 Church Bellhangers | 3 Public Houses |
| 2 Churches | 1 Saddlery Shop |
| 1 Decorator | 1 School |
| 4 Farms (2 in Appleton and 2 in Eaton) | Village Store and Post Office |
| 2 French Teachers | 1 Watch & Clock Repairer |
| 1 Graphic Designer | 1 Wood Yard |
| 1 Osteopath | 1 Public Relations Consultant |
In recent years the butchers shop in Eaton Road, MP Agricultural Engineers at Eaton, and the soap packing firm at Morgan’s Farm have closed. The remaining 75% of the residents drive anything from 6 to over 50 miles to their place of employment. There are a number of people who work in London.
