Diamond Jubilee Celebrations: 2012

Diamond jubilee celebrations: 2012

Saturday 2nd to Tuesday 5th June

(Note there is no bank holiday on Monday 11th, and half term starts on Saturday 2nd June)

Appleton, Eaton and Besselsleigh are jointly planning a weekend of events to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. We hope you will join in with some (or all!) of the celebrations.

NOTICES

1st June 2012:Jubilee Fireworks: Do not arrive early and leave gazebos at home! The Jubilee Fireworks organisers have asked for the following message to be posted: "Thank you to everyone for their fantastic support - it's a sellout! The organisers have been working hard to make sure that everything runs smoothly and safely. As we're at capacity could we ask everyone to be patient at the main Manor gate (the only access point). Please don't arrive early - the gates will not open before 6.30pm, and don't forget your tickets which will be needed for entry. We're hoping that the weather will be dry, and given the number of people expected, could we ask you to leave gazebos at home, for both safety and to avoid restricting other people's view of the fireworks. If you do bring a gazebo, you will be asked to place it round the edge of the picnic area. Many thanks. Fingers crossed for the weather."

31st May 2012: JUBILEE FIREWORKS 2 JUNE. Entrance by Main entrance ONLY and No bikes. Message from the organisers: "Access: A reminder that you will only be able to access the event through the Manor gates on Eaton Road. For safety all other access points (Park Lane and Long Close) will be closed to picnickers. Bikes: Please avoid arriving by bicycle if at all possible, and encourage your children to leave bikes at home. No bikes can be allowed in the Manor grounds - there would be little room for bike parking and the riding of bikes around picnickers could be dangerous, especially near the moat (which currently has dangerously high levels of water). If you need to cycle to the event, alternative bike parking arrangements have been made at the village school and you will be directed to park your bike there."

25th May 2012: The Jubilee-vent is very close to being a sell out, and as such the Royal tin in the community shop will from  Friday (May 25) be used solely for the purpose of distributing tickets for orders already placed. There are a very limited number of tickets still available at & £7.50 for adults (16 years and over) and £3 for children (3 to 16), and these can be ordered from Robin Band - tel: 864794 or at 27 Fettiplace Close - who will issue tickets until they sell out, and thereafter maintain a waiting list.
