Appleton Farmers' Market Certified
November 2009: Appleton Market can now officially be called a Farmers’ Market having passed the rigorous standards imposed by FARMA (the National Farmers’ Retail and Market Association).
William Black, Appleton Farmers' Market committee member said: "In their assessment, the “unique” market was praised for the “strong ethos ...encouraging a well formed community spirit and should be commended". We are of course all delighted at this news, and hope to build on these strong foundations."
"We would like to offer our thanks to all the villagers who regularly support us," added committee member John Page. "It is hoped that the community will continue to support the market and look forward to seeing all and sundry be they from Appleton or elsewhere. The market is for all to enjoy."
The market was suspended in August 2010.
