Pre School Health and Safety

Fire Drills

Your child will be involved in fire drills, which we practice at least twice each half term. The building has a fire/smoke detectors and the fire exit door is alarmed.

Risk Assessment

This is carried out daily before opening, and a very large risk assessment is untaken each term.

Kitchen

The children are not permitted in the kitchen, unless supervised by a member of staff

First Aid

All staff are First Aid trained and are able to carry out first aid in emergencies until help arrives if necessary.
All minor accidents such as falls and small bumps are recorded in a book for you to sign.
In the case of a major accident, hopefully we have consent to contact the emergency services or take your child to hospital.

Administering Medication

Children must be well enough to participate in all activities, so please don't send your children to pre school if they are unwell.  If your child is taking long term medication please discuss this with your key person, and see our medication policy.
