Appleton Pre School Snack Ideas
We as eack parent to bring snack in once each half term.
Being a helper is a really important link with home. It gives you a good chance of seeing what your child does in the group and who their friends are but more especially it makes a special day for your child. They do love you coming in! If you have been allocated a day that you are not able to do, please swap with another parent and amend it on the notice board. As stated previously, we quite understand if you work and can’t come in so please don’t worry.
What do we need you to do?
Supplying snack for that day is the first thing. Some of the things we do in pre-school can seem a little trivial e.g. putting the kettle on or the dreaded washing up, but it is something that we do have to do and if you’re there it frees up a member of staff to work with the children.
Most things when you arrive are in place so until it’s nearing snack time, just muck in with them and have a play! If you have a special interest or even a skill e.g. cooking, painting, singing etc you would like to share with the children, please let one of the staff know and they’ll make sure you are given time to do it. But the most important thing is to enjoy your morning, let someone know if you’re feeling at a loss and they’ll find you a nice job!
For snack we ask you to bring in lots of fruit and no more than 2 savoury biscuits, crackers, breadsticks or rice cakes per child. We cater for up to 24 children every day – just ask how many children will be in on your particular day.
We do have more exotic snacks during festive occasions, and are happy for cakes to be brought in for a child's birthday.
