Royal Tea Party: April 29th 2011
Organiser Jo Golding says: "I would once again like to thank Matt, Sophie and Greene King for their support in allowing us to use the Plough’s garden as the venue for the village’s Royal wedding celebrations:
The ‘Royal Tea Party’
which is a village event and has been funded by the village.
"A big thank you must go to everyone in the village that has been so very generous in making this event possible Appleton 250 Club, Appleton Trust, St Lawrence Church, Evergreens, Appleton WI, Appleton Cricket Club, The Parish Council, Appleton Community Shop, Dairy Crest and the many private donations.
"These donations have allowed us to provide bunting, flags, banners, children’s entertainer, live band, a memento for the children, face painting and tea, coffee and squash. ... And a few extras surprises! [The bar will also be open for alternative refreshments]"
WHY BRING A PLATE OF FOOD?
"To keep this village event free, to allow people to decide on the day if they would like to attend, to make sure we have enough food & to help the budget stretch further:
"I’m asking everyone that attends to bring a plate of finger food to share.
"This allows us to make this village event free and open to the local villages, family and friends. No Tickets required"
WHO IS THIS EVENT FOR?
"This village event is for everyone, all ages, with or without children, hopefully we will have something for everyone and a fantastic opportunity to catch up with old friends or maybe make new ones.
"Following the Tea Party will be the official re-opening of the pub by our new landlords Matt & Sophie and their grand opening will start at 6.00pm following our village Tea Party."
