Appleton Tennis Club

Notices December 2011

Despite the dreary weather we do play tennis all year round at our lovely courts in Badswell Lane. Come and join us for our club sessions: Mixed Sat 10-12noon, Thurs 1.30 to 3.30pm and Ladies Fri 9.15-11am.

You can still become a member of the tennis club for the remainder of the season at a greatly reduced rate. Membership forms can be obtained from membership secretary Libby Willett (864691) or from the village website at http://appletonwitheaton.org.uk/tennis. New members of any age or ability are always welcome.

Ladies or Men's league matches are played most weekends throughout the winter months so why not enjoy the fresh bracing air and come and watch us. All match dates are listed at the courts.

A date for your diaries - Appleton with Eaton Tennis Club AGM will be held in the evening on Wednesday 29th February 2012. Further details to follow.

Appleton with Eaton Tennis Club opened in 1992 with two courts at the end of Badswell Lane, on land kindly leased to us by the Dick Family.

The club has grown in strength and now has around 30 families and some 70 individual members, from Appleton, Eaton and local villages. We warmly welcome players of all standards.

Through the year there are well attended club sessions: Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings (in summer) and Ladies morning on Fridays. All members are encouraged to enter the annual club tournaments.

The start of season barbeque, ladies’ fun evening and children’s fun tournaments are part of our regular social events.

In summer months there is a full programme of coaching for juniors and adults.

We play all year! We field two men’s and one ladies’ team in the local leagues and play in friendly mixed matches in winter and summer.

If you would like to try the courts a key is held at the village shop which can be borrowed for a small deposit.

New members always welcome: just contact our membership secretary, Adrian Willett on 864691 or come along to a club session.
