Toddler Group
Welcome to Appleton mother and toddler group's page.
We are a friendly group of local families with children aged 0 to 4 years.
We meet every term time and half term Friday in the village hall from 9.30 until 11.30am. Despite our name, we do also have Dads, Grandparents and childminders - everyone is welcome!
We have a large selection of toys for babies through to pre-school children. Every week there is a craft activity and singing session. A healthy snack is provided each week and a cup of tea/coffee for the grown ups.
Every term we have atleast one party - Halloween, Christmas (with a visit from Father Christmas himself!), Easter and a summer one. We also have other things going on like clothes swaps, a toy library visiting every 3rd week, children's book sales, a photographer in the Autumn term and 'Mum's nights out'! During the summer holidays we organise a different day out each Friday. In 2009 we went to Farmer Gows, Millets, Abbey Meadows, Blenheim Palace, Appleton Woods, The Plough for lunch, Wittenham Clumps to fly kites and organised the playbus! Lots of fun! Check out our calendar for more details of what is going on.
The cost per week is £1.50 for one child or £2 for more than one.
If you decide to become a member the annual fee is £6 per child, which covers a christmas present from Father Christmas at our party and occassional subsidised activities (last year we had a visit from The Pottery Place which was subsidised).
We are run soley by volunteers and have an enthusiastic committee - new ideas and help are always very welcome.
