Vale: Community Grants Scheme

The Vale’s Executive has decided to open the community grants scheme for applications. Community groups and town and parish councils can apply for grants from £500 to £5,000 from 28 January. The awarding of grants is subject to the Council approving a budget for community grants for 2011/12 at its meeting on 23 February.

 

Subject to the approval of a budget the area committees and Executive will meet in Abingdon on 6 April 2011 to determine applications that fit the community grant criteria. Applications for these meetings need to be submitted by 2 March 2011. Subject to budget the area committees and Executive will also meet in October to determine applications. 

 

The community grants scheme can be used to support a wide variety of ‘one off’ projects that help to improve quality of life in the Vale. The Executive has decided that community groups can apply for a grant towards the cost of revenue or capital projects. Town and parish councils can only apply towards the cost of capital projects.
