Appleton and Eaton Volunteers and Organisation Registers

A message from Parish Councillor Liz Gilkes:

In order to maintain and enhance the wonderful community spirit in Appleton and Eaton, it is important people know what they can become involved in and who to approach. Those who move into the parish often ask “what can I get involved in?” and there has been no complete answer to the question. Indeed: the answer will depend on who was asked! Hardly anyone knows the complete picture of where volunteers are needed in the parish and which organisations welcome participation.

 During the project stages of this idea, and asking the question “what can people do?” of several organisations, we unearthed some surprising answers! Do join in and keep that spirit going."

Or you could advertise something you would like to do in the community ... for example, one person has already said she would be happy to do a weekly shop for any elderly person in the community.

 Comment from a recent volunteer who works in the shop: “I feel I am at the heart of the community when behind the counter. As a newcomer to the village it is nice to meet new people and get to know the older residents.” HS
